Presto Engineering are looking for an Apprentice/Trainee CNC Machinist to join our growing team in Witney, Oxfordshire. The role will primarily involve setting up and operating 3, 4, and 3 + 2 axis CNC machining centres for a variety of high end production work.

Presto Engineering are seeking a candidate who is keen to develop further and utilise this 4 year apprenticeship opportunity to become proficient in CADCAM programming and producing tooling for production jobs.

Qualifications Required

To be eligible for this position you will need;

  • Minimum requirement of 5 GCSE’s (including English, Maths and a Science) Grade 4+ or above (grade C equivalent).

Ideally the successful candidate will have completed or be currently completing a BTEC/Level 3 equivalent in Engineering and may already have some practical experience, however this is a desirable requirement and is by no means essential.

Training To Be Provided

  • 1st Year will be spent full time as an apprentice student 5 days per week at Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS) based at Culham Oxfordshire. (Monday – Friday)
    Year 1:

     

    Foundation Phase:

    • Full time based at the OAS, September 2022 – August 2023 (returning to employer during holiday periods)
    • Foundation competency and development knowledge training
    • Gateway assessment

Things to Consider

During the 1st year of your apprenticeship the holidays will be spent working back at the employers – Working hours at Presto Engineering are 7:00am – 3:30pm with the opportunity to work paid overtime until 17:00pm.
