Production Engineering Apprentice

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Williams family on our 2023 Apprenticeship Programme starting in September 2023, as Production Engineering Apprentice. We pride ourselves in producing marine craft that demonstrates our passion and commitment and producing craft that our customers will enjoy. Wage £17k - £22k (Increase over 3 years)

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic apprentices that would like to kick start their careers in production and engineering who are practically minded and can demonstrate their practical skills in extracurricular activities, which can vary from making and building things to design and technology.

The programme will consist of your first year mainly at OAS Culham where you will be emersed into the Level 3 Engineering modules together with blocked out time to come to site to meet with your team at Williams Jet Tenders working in key engineering cells within the business.  After the first year, you will be given a programme consisting of 6-week blocks in each of the manufacturing, production, design and engineering cells to compliment the learning from the course together with gaining further on the job experience.  There will be block release at OAS periodically.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideally you will be working towards 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above which would include Maths, English and a Science.  Although these would be preferred, we are open to look at candidates with lower grades who possess relevant extracurricular experience and the right behaviour and attitudes, Support with Maths and English and course content will be provided.

Hours on site are

Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15:00 (37.5 hours per week)

Salary will be

£17K in year 1

£20K in year 2

£22K in year 3
