The Level 4 Automation & Controls Apprenticeship is designed to help support the future skills needs of manufacturing and engineering businesses.
If you're a levy payer, you can use the apprenticeship levy to fund Level 4 apprenticeships.
If your organisation doesn't currently pay the levy, government subsidies are available to cover 95% of the training costs.

WHY OAS?
Based at UKAEA's Culham Science Centre in Abingdon, Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS) offers high quality training for apprentice engineers and technicians across a range of businesses located throughout Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley.
The OAS Apprenticeship Programme provides training on the very latest cutting-edge technology, alongside traditional engineering skills.
The training centre boasts world-class learning facilities which house some of the UK’s most advanced equipment covering a wide range of engineering and technology disciplines.
Not only will apprentices have access to state-of-the-art facilities but they will be taught by experts within manufacturing technology and training.
What students will learn
This course consists of 8 modules taught on a day-release basis.
Students develop their problem solving as well as the necessary theoretical and practical skills that they need to excel in roles such as Automation and Control Technician.
Upon completion, they will be ready to fulfil roles with a higher level of responsibility across a variety of industries, including:
- Manufacturing
- Utilities & Power
- Automotive
- Food & Drink
- Pharmaceutical
- Logistics
- Nuclear
