Apprentice CNC Machinist / Mechanical Engineer

CVD Engineer

This role will have its main focus in the Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) lab at the Element Six Global Innovation Centre (GIC). Here, diamond materials are synthesized for advanced industrial applications such as laser windows, semiconductor heat-sinks, and quantum materials for sensor applications. You will work with CVD technology and its supporting systems, which includes high-purity gas supplies, microwave systems, vacuum systems, and electronic control systems. The role reports to the CVD Engineer.

Engineering Apprentice

Optek systems provide laser processing solutions to evolving technologies for customers which are often challenging the boundaries of materials processing. We are looking for an engineering apprentice to contribute to the success of our laser micromachining machines which has a range of novel applications including Medical, New energy and sensors. As our apprentice, you will be exposed to all aspects of design and build, you will see product through from concept to delivery. The machines require an appreciation of many disciplines of engineering including, electrical, electronic, programming, mechanical and laser machining. Key aspects such as design for manufacture and machine safety are a key focus for the business.
