What entry qualifications will I need?
We are keen to recruit people who already have or are predicted to gain at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English Language, Maths, and Science at Grade C/4 or above.
If you are taking your GCSEs this year, we will need a copy of your predicted grades.
Alternatively, we accept Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and English.
What are the eligibility requirements?
- Over 16: To apply for the apprenticeship, you must be 16 when the apprenticeship starts.
- Right to Work: Apprentices must have the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of their programme. The programme duration will depend on the programme.
If you do not have indefinite right to work in the UK, your visa must cover the length of the programme from the programme’s start dart. - Documentation: Your place on our apprenticeship programmes are subject to identity checks and right to work using official documents (e.g. passport, visa, biometric residence permit).
Do I get paid?
Yes! Being able to earn while you learn is one of the great benefits of an apprenticeship. Employers will typically pay between £10,000 to £18,000 per year. This will increase annually as you gain more skills and become more useful to your employer.
When will my apprenticeship start?
Our apprenticeships start between September and October each year, with recruitment beginning in October the year before – so the earlier you apply, the better! You’ll attend block release off-the-job training in 2-4 week blocks at the training centre, spending the rest of your time with your employer.
How long will my apprenticeship take?
Our Level 3 Advanced Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship programmes take 42 months to complete plus 4 months for the End Point Assessment (EPA).
