Kicking off National Apprenticeship Week 2022!

Today marks the start of National Apprenticeship Week 2022, and we’ve got plenty planned to celebrate all things apprenticeships!

This year’s NAW theme is ‘Build the Future’, an extension of the theme used in 2021 in recognition of how apprenticeships continue to play a crucial role in helping to the UK to Build Back Better as we work to overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here at OAS, we’re proud to be creating the next generation of advanced manufacturing talent that is so essential to securing the sector’s future. In partnership with our employer partners, we’re ensuring that our learners have the skills, knowledge and behaviours that they and their companies’ need to compete and succeed in a rapidly changing industry, today and tomorrow.

Our apprentices learn from proven industry experts in an environment at the forefront of technological advancements, gaining the skills they need both now and in their future careers. Our ambitious enrichment programme also supports helps them to develop those all-important ‘soft skills’ they’ll need for ongoing professional and personal success.

We’re passionate about the fantastic opportunities and benefits that apprenticeships offer to our amazing learners as well as to their employers, and we’re committed to raising awareness about why apprenticeships are such a brilliant way to kick-start engineering careers. During NAW, our OAS Roadshow is visiting local schools to inspire young people to explore a career in STEM, and we’re hosting open events to help potential learners and their families see exactly what it’s like to be an apprentice at OAS. We’ll be talking to our employer partners about how their apprentices have surprised them, and our training team will be answering parents’ and carers’ frequently asked questions. You can also tune in to Jack FM throughout the week to find out how two presenters got on in a competitive robotics challenge with the help of some OAS apprentices!

Keep your eye on our social media channels to see what we’ve got in store, and if you’d like to talk to our friendly team of training experts about how apprenticeships can help you to build your future, then please get in touch with us on OASPhase2@the-mtc.org

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
